I was looking for a nonprofit organization to work for. I’m glad I found Abigail’s Arms. Staff really care and the Board of Directors has a passion for helping victims of trauma in Cooke County.

This place is located on the east side of Gainesville, Texas just off East Hwy 82 and North onto Aspen Rd. The offer many types of services for women and children. They offere all types of services. No men are allowed in this secure facility. The staff seem to be caring and overwhelmed at times. Difficult guest and various backgrounds help to keep them guessing. Can't help everyone and can't keep them from not returninv to the same environment they said they were trying to leave. Understand that this is s process and it does take time. It was a long time coming well now they are here! Ready and willing to help those who are rwadg to make the change and even walk you through it with support and services.

It is apparent that Abigail's Arms is a compassionate caring agency, and the team there works in a community effort to inspire change in times of hardship. The facility is well planned out for safety of clients and staff members, and is equipped with everything children, families, and individuals need in time of crisis. Such a great community resource to have access to!

When I was told that this was not for me cannot accept me I was also told that if all fail they will make an exception for me and I could stay there but at the end of trying to find another place and it all has fail they turn me away with a box of food which I did not need

Run from this place do not trust them with your life nor you children's. My kids and i are living from place to place while they let addicts break all the rules and come in and out high. The staff is rude and place don't trust them with any of your info, they talk about you behind your name and make up false info to put in their damn case notes. From the moment I stepped foot in that place i had a bad feel and i should have taking heed. I trusted these ppl only for them to stab me in my back. I have cried haven't been able to sleep because these ppl are so wrong about how they did me. I had a job, just got my childcare and whatever i did was never enough for them. I don't know why they hated me so bad but i just pray the Lord has mercy on them. I am not perfect nor innocent but i didn't deserve this treatment. What put the icing on the cake is that i just got Exited yesterday and per a resident that still resids there said one on the staff members was talking bad about me. Please if you can choose another option do that and avoid this place.

If you need help ladies they can help and provide safety for you and yur children. Legal services and counciling and food shelter and healing is provided. a private room that is up to the standards of a luxery apartment.

Place clean, but community food may leave your breakfast oatmeal and orange juice gone before you get to it. The staff prefers to cater to homeless drug addicts, fugitives and prostitutes than real domestic violence victims
