overall a very frustrating experience. took the grizzly tour in around the third week of august. an hour after arriving, it became painfully obvious that it was not actually bear season yet. grizzly bears won't come around humans in big diesel buses unless the salmon are running, which basically compensates them for the risk of going around people. ended up being a 5 hour bus drive around logging roads, where it was clear after the first hour that it was too early in the season. The tour guides however pretended to be oblivious to this fact and entertained the foreign tourists with stories of the bears they saw the previous year. I would recommend that potential tourists do their research to make sure that the salmon are running before booking this tour. also that the company reexamine the timings of their tours for which they charge full price for despite the fact that the season may not have arrived.
