Client Review on Big Bear Lake Library

Feedback:

I used to love our little library. It certainly isn't the library of Congress, but it has a decent selection for a small library & I've never had any trouble getting books I wanted to read sent up here from other branches. However, recently I returned books to the outside bin that were apparently not recorded on the day I deposited them there; a charge of $20 racked up by the time I noticed this. I told Jamie that I would pay the $20 it had climbed to at the point when I had last checked my account & would just consider it a donation to the library, EVEN THOUGH I returned the books on the due date. She CHOSE to forgive the $20 and yet I am still being blamed. Some time later I returned a book that someone before me had apparently attempted to fix with Gorilla Glue. I did not do this, and her staff, which is charged with checking the condition of books at the time of checkout didn't notice it, and yet Jamie chose to justify adding this episode to my "watchlist" status from the prior system error, of which I was also not guilty. This is absurd. I don't own any Gorilla Glue and would be the last person to attempt to repair a book with it, having in my younger days been a calligrapher who made a trip to Ireland just to see the Book of Kells. Yet I have a "record" with the library and am eyed suspiciously when I check things out. I am beyond pi$$ed. Be careful. You will be blamed for the computer's and staff's not doing their jobs.
