A metal gate from a housing community dropped down and hit my new truck causing $850 in damage. Central was not my company but the housing development’s company. It took 4.5 months to receive payment. The communication from the company was super slow and the investigator was at times rude. I am thankful to have been paid, but learned how slow And ugly some insurance companies are in paying even the smallest of bills. I have never had any insurance company take this long in my near 35 years of dealing with insurance companies.

Central insurance is the worst company for business insurance. The building we work out of is owned and insured by another gentlemen, and this whole time of 7-8 years we have been under the impression that the contents were insured by us .The first claim we've ever filed and NO COVERAGE for items that were stolen that did not belong to us. 8000.00 was the value of items stolen that we get to eat. Better we find out now than if our building burned down or tornado happened and the 200,000.00 contents were destroyed. Do what are the big premiums covering....... NOTHING!!!!!! if we cause damage to someone elses property on their property they say we are covered, at this point in time that is unbelievable also. Stay away for your business needs from Central insurance and their agents such as Pipes insurance of New Philadelphia as they write the crooked policies for the crooked company. Save yourself the hassle / headache and drop them! ******Update****** We had an official from our agaent come out to discuss the claim with us, they just want to sell more insurance and raise the premium even further! No reassuring us of actual coverage. Then 2 days later we get a bill for more than usual and the problem there is we are quarterly billed and it has only been a month since the last bill. Run from this company. I have started a following and in just days I've heard for more than 40 other customers of this company and 5 who carry them through my agent. Please feel free to contact me with your comments and concerns on this company. Class action is in order here. We're shopping for new insurance and so far if anybody is shopping, farmers insurance in dover Ohio is the best I've found so far!

I have known many people to apply at the Van Wert, Ohio branch and a few whom also worked with Central Mutual Insurance. The hiring managers filter through resumes and refuse to hire Hispanic and minority employees. They have sent letters to people within the Ohio area that have Hispanic names advising that they do not have the qualifications for the position. However that is beyond true, these individuals provided years of experience and credentials but they will not hire anyone with a minority last name. Central Mutual should really check into this before it becomes a EEOC claim
