I had filled out an application for a place to rent. A couple days later an agent had called me to set up an appointment to view the place. After we got off the phone she called me back, asked for my full name and date of birth (I gave both to her) and then proceeded to tell me that due to their screening process I'm not eligible to rent from them at all with any property that they have. I managed to ask her why (she was trying very hard to just get me off the phone and barely let me talk) and she told me that due to privacy reasons she cant disclose that. We hung up and after that call I emailed the guy above her and he let me know that 'When potential tenants are declined it is typically because of something we are made aware of by a reference, previous landlord or other contact on the application. ' However, I had spoken with the references I had given and was told that nothing negative was said about me.Would NOT recommend dealing with this company just based on how there seems to be no transparency.
