My family and I have rented vacation homes for the past 20+ years. Mainly in NC but have experience with rental companies all over the US. Cooke Realty has by far been the worst experience to date. The staff was friendly but the owners were extremely rude and unprofessional. The entire rental process was unorganized. The property we stayed in was as expected. This review is not about the property. It is about how rude and unprofessional the Cooke's are. This was our first and last time we will ever rent through this company. No one seemed to care when we mentioned a few things at departure. We are not a complaining family. Just wanted to bring some things to the attention of the property managers. It seemed as if they have heard so many complaints about them, they are immune to it and don't really care to take actions to make things better.Please folks, take time to read the reviews online. After we returned home and started really reading them, it painted the same bad picture we experienced.

We stayed at 9 Pender Street and the house is only 4 years old, however looks like it is about 20 years old. Obviously renters have beat this house to death. Also the house is NOT clean!! Not only is there horrible wear and tear on the house, but it is also not cleaned. The toilets all have black mildew in them under the rim. The showers are filled with mildew. When we arrived there was a pink mold in one of the refrigerator doors. The floors were nasty and food drippings all on the walls and kitchen island. The kitchen supplies were old and gross looking. I called housekeeping to come back after I arrived. The housekeeper who came was the one who originally cleaned the house. As I pointed out things she needed to clean she told me I was really looking for things?? No, these are places that have clearly not been cleaned. There were crumbs all in the kitchen chairs and a nasty table runner that looked like it has never been washed. After I saw that she wiped everything with the same rag, I quit pointing out issues and had he leave and I cleaned some stuff myself on my first day of vacation!!! Also, check out time is 10am and I received a text around noon stating the house was ready. So basically one person cleaned a 5 bedroom, 4 1/2 bath house in 2 hours. Impossible!! It was not cleaned but merely straightened up. We will never rent from Cooke Reality again.

Worst place ever. Smells funny too

We rented PAB 2K There are unknown carpet stains throughout the Condo. The couch is dingy and stained. I won’t even sit on it. The only toaster in the condo does not work. The ceiling and ceiling fans have an inch of dust on them. Very outdated and not taken care of. The condo has a not so clean smell to it. I’ve attempted to use Fabreeze several times the Condo still smells. I have emailed the rental agency and advised them of the issues.
