I'm a disabled veteran I have been away from home for a few years on duty . I was just medically retired due to severe injuries in combat .I went in close to lunch time and the employee was rude immediately due to me moving slow and refused to give me temporary plates for one vehicle then refused to let me take the driving test cause lunch was coming up. ON top of being rude and blatantly not helping me even though I had correct paperwork. She had the nerve to tell me to "GO TO ANOTHER STATE IF U DON'T LIKE INDIANA BMV PROCEDURES "I will NOT LEAVE my home state that I love and proudly represented while in the war and while on duty. How dare you tell a proud disabled HOOSIER veteran TO LEAVE . They told me that my DOD GOVERMENT ID WILL NOT WORK SOON...??? I HAD TO BEG TO GET A STATE ID. I WALK WITH A LIMP AT 37 AND IF THAT ISN'T EMBARRASSING ENOUGH THEY MADE A JOKE OF MY MILITARY SERVICE WHEN I ASKED FOR DISABLED VETERAN PLATES. I'm not even mad I'm just so sad that once I showed my military Id card she immediately starting embarrassing me and telling me lunch is coming I need to come back . What happened to indiana ? 10 years and 4 combat rotations and I come home and it seems that once people find out your military they are hostile to my very presence .

They wouldn’t give me my real ID without my social security card but they did renew my license. They are the only branch within an of my location that’s open on Mondays. 7/15/2019. Was done in less than 15mins

I left this bmv scratching my head & wondering how it got an average of 2 stars. We were in & out of there in lightning speed! We'd bought a used car for my son from Illinois & wanted to get some temporary plates on it & start the title/registration process for it asap. I swear we had zero wait and were done in 10+ minutes. Our clerk was friendly & funny. An A+ job. Oh...and the best part...they were open on a Monday unlike most BMVs!

Let's face it, no one likes going to the BMV... but everyone at this location was very friendly and accomodating. They got us through quickly, and painlessly! Happy I went to DeMotte rather than Valpo or Crown Point.

I love coming in this branch the lady's who work here are always so pleasant and even if I dont have what I need they always tell me how to get it. They have rules they have to follow as well and they do not make the laws but they have to follow them. I really appreciate the great customer service I get every time I walk through the door.

The last 2-3 times I was there, I did not have a good experience. Some are rude and some are not informed.One visit they could have helped me after I waited quite some time, but they decided that closing was more important. It seems that one person says you need certain documents, then you're sent home because another person states that you need something else. Very inconsistent. I now will drive further to go to a different branch.

I really wish the people who maintain the BMV website would inform people they are closed even though it says they are open. I drove 45 miles to conduct business on monday 11.5.18 only to be told they are closed. There phone number doesn't go to their office just a state wide teleprompter. Crazy

Mostly rude and hostile people work at this Branch.....What we all have come to expect from State Gov workers who cannot be fired. Sooooo Sad!
