In watching a YouTube video showing 3 "officers" of the law I was disgusted at the way they treated a citizen and his right. You officers acted like children and completely embarrassed yourselves. For the Sargent himself to not even know his first amendment right is a disgrace. Learn your law and give your bubble gum machine badge back.

Feedback:

Lawless bullies right here. No respect for those whom they serve. No respect for the law they took an oath to uphold. No respect for civil rights or the Constitution America was founded on. You are unAmerican traitors who have forgotten that your badge doesn't give you authority, WE THE PEOPLE give you authority. Show your masters some respect, you lawless pigs.Every on-duty officer just had to come out and get a few threats of physical violence in on the law-abiding journalist. None could refuse the chance to abuse a helpless citizen and surround him with armed men to intimidate him into ceasing his CONSTITUTIONALLY-PROTECTED activity. Sounds like something a violent gang would do, definitely not the behavior of courteous public servants, duty-bound to uphold the law. No law was ever broken, yet they threatened arrest under color of law REPEATEDLY in order to intimidate a peaceful journalist gathering information about their behavior. These officers must be up to some pretty nasty business if they spent half an hour threatening and intimidating someone who is just trying to take pictures and record their behavior while on duty. What are you hiding that you would have such a strong and aggressive response to someone looking into your behavior?I do hope you realize that such behavior on camera shows more and more people how police abuse good, law-abiding people every day. More and more people are watching you and will hold you accountable for your behavior. Get your act together, boys, you can't hide anymore. We see you.

Feedback:

It's rare to see such unprofessional officers all in one spot. Let's ignore the illegality of video for a moment and talk about how the sergeant insults the person filming by asking if he can read, name calling and the like.I've never seen a cop act like a grade school bully because he knows he can do nothing legally against the person filming. It's really an indicator of the command structure of the PD when a sergeant behaves this way. That indicates a failure in the command staff to properly train and discipline officers, and instead allow the good ol boy behavior to not only develop but be nurtured an encouraged. This is why the public doesn't trust police officers. That is why witnesses don't give statements. That is why officers are looked at as the criminals. You like to post these "Chief's Community Update"s. I'm guessing is because you think it helps you appear to care. Update us when you as chief, actually takes action against your officers, who not only break the law, but act unprofessional and obviously aren't making their physical fitness standards.

Feedback:

The ignorance in this department is astounding. If you live in east Palo Alto dont have interactions with this department. The supervisor of the EPAPD must be a complete dope or a tyrant not shure witch maybe both. I would be ashamed to show my face in public if my officers treated the public the way officers J Norden badge 46 and N Lualemaga thread a citizen journalist. Just pure shameful SMH in disgust.God have mercy on any one who has to deal with these fools.

Feedback:

VERY POOR education level and courtesy towards citizens among your officers. Drop off your badges and guns on your way out the door. Hire better cops and educate them on the law.

Feedback:

Terrible problem with abandoned cars. Been calling for four weeks now about the same vehicles. Police came out, stickers vehicles, but didn't come check. Same vehicles are still out there after four weeks. And the actual people that live here can't find parking spots because the people down the street use our area for their vehicle storage.

Feedback:

Super nice Staff in the office, went to pick up a vehicle release form, and everyone that was helping me was smiling, have never seen that before at a police station, keep up the nice work and pleasant atmosphere.

Feedback:

Very helpful with any questions, interesting to know they have a "Sergeant of the day" which allows officers to rotate and be in an "equal" type of environment. The building EPAPD operates out of is a portable and I believe I've invested and paid enough taxes throughout the years in which officers and staff deserve to work out of a structural building instead of something that appears and feels more like porta potty. Most cities I've been to the police department has ALWAYS been in an actual building and hopefully the city decides to invest in improving the departments work environment because I know I would feel uncomfortable if employed here because 1 main concern would be how secure a portable vs a structural environment can be especially when possible felons are brought in for questioning. Safety, Security, and Reliability are factors however in all honesty how can the city expect residents to take the department seriously when officers primary location is here. I would've given 5 stars, but put 3 because of how embarrassed I am being a resident here because in my opinion is how can the city be concerned or care for its residents when it feels the city turns their back and isn't concerned for it's officers let alone staff. Employees and officers here receive the 5 stars, city management or the development department deserve ONLY a 1 star rating for not properly budgeting ANY funds to go where funds are most deserved and needed; the police department. Police risk their lives everyday to serve and protect and the city has them work from a toilet? No wonder some people don't take officers seriously because look where they work from. And if a dangerous felon escapes from officer custody here; there are numerous areas in which a felon could easily hide due to barely any lighting and wherehouses around! The city of EPA appears to be getting a total make over yet not the department, thats pathetic. Police and NOT the politicians deserve a raise or have the mayor's office switch with police and see how the mayor would feel. No disrespect to the officers or staff, I just believe you deserve more than what you have been given and thank you for your service. As for the ones in charge; you should be fired immediately!

This is a nice city filled with wonderful people. This city has really changed a lot since it first incorporated in the 1980's.
