UPDATE! - I'm happy to report that this was all straightened out within 24 hours! I did get a call from someone local (Jillian), and she was able to refund the subscription amount. My faith in the Erie Times-News has been restored and I will definitely consider renewing my subscription in the future. ORIGINAL:I want to support my local paper, but I don't feel it's local anymore. I tried to cancel my subscription to the Sunday paper. I don't always read it, so I figure I can pick it up at the gas station on the days I want to read it. Unfortunately, I've called twice to have them stop charging my credit card and I get to talk to a call center that doesn't seem to be able to make this simple task happen. I've moved on to disputing the charges through my credit card company. I'll become a customer again when I can talk to someone who knows where Erie, PA is located.
