Feedback:

I worked for Excel for approximately two months. These were some of the most difficult, yet most rewarding months of my life. Before anyone goes into this venture i'd like to say there is a lot to consider. Firstly, the good aspects of working with Excel. The people you work with are smart, positive, and influential individuals that strive to succeed and help you succeed. They will always give their 110%. Rest assured they will be there for you in the good and the bad times. The person leading this operation is Kinsey. Contrary to some negative comments I've seen about her, she is an amazing individual. No matter what issue you are having ( personal or work related) if you let her know. she will be there to help you. Kinsey is also willing to make time for anyone, if you have goals you want to achieve in the company, she will help you achieve those goals. I will forever be grateful for her advice.Now for the negatives. Your work days will be very looong days. Most mornings you will have a morning meeting expect to wake up around 6:45 A.M. and then you should be at the office by around 7:45 A.M. . The meetings will typically last an hour and then you drive over to your event. On some occasions work will start two hours later so you will have to fill this time up with something to do, then be at your event around twelve. Depending on the location of the event expect to end up driving 30-60 miles a day from start to finish ( make sure to keep a meticulous record of your miles driven and make sure you fully understand how the mileage reimbursement is structured ). By the end of the day you will end up being home around 7-9 P.M. . I highly highly recommend everyone also keep a meticulous record of every minute you work. You end up working prior to your shift and after your shift and I personally was told not to log these hours by a leader. In retrospect I should've. Prior to most shifts you will find yourself having to set up your work environment and take inventory if you are "promoting" a product before your shift. After your shift if you are promoting a product you will also have to make bundles to sell for the next day. You are told that you are promoting these products and that sales are not a priority but in reality if you want to make above the low hourly rate, sales are all that really matter. You don't make commission by simply speaking to people. You get commissions by getting sells. ( If you are running an event "promoting" products of course. There are other events that the company also runs with a different pay structure. ) After your day is over you will break down your day with your leader ( the main person that guides you along the way) and this typically ends the day on a positive note even if you had a rough day. When you are not working you will find yourself setting up meetings with co workers or participating in company events. Although not forced upon you, it is expected of you to set up these meetings outside of work hours if you want to succeed in this company.Secondly this job is not for an introvert. Expect to interact with hundreds if not thousands of people on a daily basis. Even if these individuals don't seem interested in talking with you, you are expected to talk to every single individual that walks by you unless they are seriously in a hurry or seem to be in a terrible mood.Pay-The pay structure I worked upon while "promoting" products was Hourly rate ( Not great) or commission whichever is higher (If you aren't getting paid based on your performance through commission... you won't last long with the company... You are under performing ) Also Consistent income will be uncommon, unless you're under performing and making base hourly rate. ( Excel does offer you help with managing your money )Time- Expect to feel as if you don't even have time to do laundry. This job will take up a majority of your life.At the end of the day, Excel and I mutually broke ties on good terms as this job simply burned me out. If you think you can handle all of this, then you will find great success here.

So far I've been pretty impressed. This company definitely challenges you but never would I say it is a scam. I think some people just expect things to be handed to them and maybe that's the millennial generation for you but if you work hard and set goals it's definitely achievable here at this company. The only con I can say about this company is you get a lot of knowledge thrown out you fairly quickly so it's pretty much sink or swim but if you're someone who adapts well to a fast-paced environment then it's a Breeze.

I've loved working at Excel Inc since day one. There's so much talent and ambition in the office that it really challenges me to be better every day. I started as an intern and went full time after completing school and I'm so glad to be utilizing my degree and gaining such great experience right out of the gate!

**Avoid At All Cost**!!!! This is a pyramid scheme. I've never felt more humiliated in my life than the month I worked here. They tell you you will make 75k. You make 10$ an hour, you sell worthless stuff in Costco and Sam's, they push you to come in on your days off, they herd you in like cattle and send you out to sell stuff, with zero product knowledge or information. They provide no information on what you're selling, it's all about the "pitch". Which is a psychological marketing scheme to get people to impulse buy their junk. This company and all like it are a disease. Stay away!

I'm glad I don't work for this company. It was a blessing in disguise to lead me to a much better opportunity for actual career growth. The job descriptions you may see on various sites when applying are very misleading. Even when you apply for something like a digital media specialist or client coordinator or whatever it is, they make you start out with event planning even those the other job listings are supposed to entry level positions too. It wouldn't be so bad if the training model was worth the very little time they give you to memorize it. I worked there for only a day and a half and got fired on the spot for not memorizing a training model that had nothing to do with the job itself. They don't even give you the time to show them what you can do on the actual job. It takes more then just one night to train someone new about the job properly. The company is very misleading in its intentions for all they do is just sell stuff in big box stores with display booths. They don't seem to actually care performance as more or less they care about the results. The results being the sales they make for their clients. It not so much different then say working as a sales agent for a phone company. Hardly the most innovative of job functions and they don't actually have you perform any of the job functions that you would apply for. I didn't see anybody in the office gathering research information for the clientele, talking to clients to come up with effective promotional tools, or anything like that. In my opinion that place is not for one who likes to do more with actual client engagement and market research functions. If you want to strictly stick to just selling items that's ok but this is no place to develop a lasting career.

Bad Company To Work For!Very labor intensive & Minimum Wage for pay.You're required to sell items at a table at Sam's & Costco & push customers to buy things that aren't worth the money & time.I had an interview scheduled with this company & decided to Google the company. Nothing but bad reviews all over the internet.

Misleading job descriptions, as well as posting jobs under multiple aliases on various sites like Glassdoor, Zip Recruiter, etc. It's essentially selling products in warehouse stores like Sam's Club. I'm glad I didn't work there, it's a pyramid marketing scheme. They sway you with promises of high salaries in a couple of years. I guess the recruiters must have a quota to bring a certain number of people through the door.
