I attended this post as part of an international exercise (Eagle Owl). I was stunned by the respect and courtesy extended to service personnel here. As a (British) visiting soldier, I was inspired by the communal sense of patriotism, generosity and hospitality. The tipping culture and sales tax need work, but otherwise I was overwhelmed by a very enviable civil-military relationship. My compliments to the Holiday Inn, who hosted me, and 200 other British Army Majors in supreme comfort and kindness. It would be an honour to visit again.

Was assigned here Dec 2008, retired in 2012 and now work here again since 2016 love it here, it's beautiful and has great weather all four seasons and winter is usually not real harsh. Lots to do and keeps us very busy. Hunting and fishing is good, with lots of places and people to go out with. Lots of history in the first post and city of Kansas.

Visitor Center folks were very nice, but the security guard at the front gate was not so nice. Being rude is not the way to treat a guess or 10 yr. veteran that fought in OIF. The real jerks are the ones who do not appreciate their job.

Very clean historic fort. Stayed in General Eisehower's former quarters. Elegant. O club & other facilities outstanding.

It is a great place to visit with lots of historic pieces of war materials which are conveniently located on a well maintained walking trail. There is plenty of historic buildings as well as well maintained period architecture. There are also 2 historic chapels plus the old United Stated Disciplinary Barracks complex. Like I said, plenty to see & visit as well as several places to eat.
