Client Review on Greater Comfort HeatingAir

Feedback:

Mitsubishi recommended Greater Comfort as their Diamond dealer to install a 9 head mini ductless Hyper Heat system last July. The first crew came, delivered the boxes of parts to be installed. They made scratches all over my new installed hardwood floors and even on my driveway. Then on the first day, the installer made a lot of unnecessary holes because as he put it he used his "Head" instead of measuring tools and stud finder. He left a huge hole trying to make the unit fit in our bathroom, through which one day we found nine yellow jackets sitting in our bathroom wall.Needless to say, I called his boss Ed Conley who replaced the crew with another crew. The second crew would show up at 9:20- 10:00 am, work until 1 pm, go to lunch and then come back at 3 pm to gather their tools and call it a day and go home. It took them 4 weeks to install the first floor units during which we had only window a/c units in two rooms to keep cool. So they were dragging their feet while making us miserable, so I called Ed Conley and said his workers are coming in late, leaving early, with his helper constantly on the phone with his girlfriend doing no work at all.So the installers got mad, and while installing the lines in our attic, deliberately kicked the insulation into the eave vents and blocked them. They also left the attic access and parts of the attic insulation off. The whole installation took SIX WEEKS! As a results of kicking the insulation around, our humidity level jumped to 65-70% and required two dehumidifiers in the summer that doubled our electric consumption (supposed to have dropped with these highly efficient units!) During the winter, we could not keep humidity level high since the insulation was kicked around and now we required three humidifiers to keep adequate humidity. All this humidity apparently rose into the attic space, and during the polar vortex of Jan 30, 2018; it froze under the cold roof decking, and as it suddenly warmed up after 3 days, all that melted frost poured into our bedroom ceiling and into the light fixture! That is when we found major mold damage in our attic and discovered the attic vents being blocked and why we were getting so much humidity in the summer and such low humidity in the winter due to the installer undoing our vapor barrier and blocking eave vents and trapping moisture. Now the insurance company refused to pay for the damages because of what the Greater Comfort installers did. I now am paying $19,000 to replace the insulation, remediate the mold and fix the blocked vents. This is on to of the hardwood floor scratch damages they caused.Saying they were unethical does not even come close, rather criminal. No supervision whatsoever. Workers are left to do what they want to do.It cost us $350-400/ month to heat and cool instead of $150-220! The two dehumidifiers and two extra humidifiers cost another $650. They caused enormous financial damage. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!
