Overall Feedback:
Scammed or Honest Mistake? I have learned a lot about websites in the two years after hiring Greenvine by trying to fix our site. Greenvine created it to be custom and not the easy $6K Wordpress site they sold us on. I was going to manage it so made it clear from the first call I am NOT tech savvy. Assured they were the ones to create a site and train me to use it, we went with them. What they didn't tell us upfront is that they outsource their web design to India. One of our post-Greenvine web designers looked into it and he could pay $10 an hour for designer in India to do his job. Makes sense because for months our site had content I'd sent with my notes like "if you have room in this icon add this". They didn't catch it and it took that long for them to fix it. After two years our site is not able to reflect our business growth or changes unless we pay a lot fo money for another web designer to figure out "how complicated our site is." In total we paid Greenvine over $6K and $1K in getting someone to put banners on, change some text Greenvine has immeshed with code? We are still working with many other local and smaller and more invested designers to decide which one to trust to fix the mess we paid Greenvine to create. Will say Jessica is responsive and kind to talk to, so whether they did this custom site by mistake or purposefully is a question we can't answer. What we keep hearing is from places we have look at our site is: "They sold you on what you wanted and created a site that makes you dependent on them like a lot of these places do." Greenvine's position has been these other web places are incompetent and they sold us a user friendly site, we have not gotten any admission of a mistake or interest in fixing/compensating us for our site. End result: We are STILL dealing with this "user friendly" site and all it's issues, we are out over $7K for a site we have to hold our breath to change or pay hourly for someone NOT from India to fix. Estimates to fix this mess and estimates are another $3K-$4K so we are not saving up for that investment. How they made my idea of the logo come alive was nice though...
