This is the rinky dink courthouse that handles all of the frivolous "Reckless Driving" tickets (81mph in a 70) for all of southern Virginia. So when you show up for a ticket for 11mph over the speed limit from 8 hours away, the docket is so completely jammed up with "Reckless Driving" tickets, because you can't just pay it online, that chances are you'll be sitting around for several more hours after your scheduled time. Never in my life have I seen such blatant money grabbing from a small town's police force AND the attorney's working these cases... Absolutely nothing makes out of state travelers ever want to come back to this state for anything after they learn about this. I even received a piece of mail from an Attorney's office over 100 miles from this court house in regards to my ticket and when I called, just for the hell of it, the paralegal that picked up said, "Hey, we're just looking to get in on the action down there..." Wow.
