Feedback:

It is very difficult to request a book and to get it in a timely manner.

Feedback:

Outside is attracting because of not only library surroundings and location/ design. The people who work here including some desk staff are probably the rudest, weirdest and unprofessional people you will ever meet. There’s a lot more I want to save, but I’m going to save my time and tell you all the other reviews are proving my point.

Feedback:

Well maintained library and the staff is nice and cooperative. Doesn't have the most extensive selection of books but otherwise a pretty good place.

Feedback:

The computer area is terrible, the stations all face each other and the partition only goes up a few inches so you are literally staring into someone else's face while you're trying to work. Additionally in a room full of 24 computers their system automatically seats people in the same few areas all facing each other all the time. I was told if I wanted to use a different computer to just ask the Librarians and it wouldn't be a problem, but everytime I ask to use the computer they ask why and I have to explain why I don't want to sit staring into a total stranger's face. It would be nice if you could bring your own laptop or pad and work, but the only area you could use is big communal tables, a few chairs but mostly backless benches and backless stools so you can't get comfortable, and they have the private rooms on absolute lock down and they sit empty. They designed this place so that you don't want to stay for long. It's a disgrace that millions of dollars of taxpayer money has been wasted in this way.

Feedback:

Great place to go to for studying BUT be warned! I was trying to talk to my classmate about home work and the librarian quickly came over to SHUSH ME!!!

Feedback:

Love have such a great library on the island. The staff is always eager to assist!

Feedback:

Don't be fooled by the outstanding architecture of this library. Walking inside this library, you would expect it to be outstanding because of the buildings marvelous design, but many have a different experience. Walking in with my big family caused many of the librarians to wrinkle their noses in disgust. When my family was in the children's area, multiple times a librarian came over to shush us or say keep it down. Sometimes it was the right thing to do because they were getting rowdy but even if they were louder than whispering, someone would come over to remind us to keep our voices down. The children's section is deplorable and sound travels far through the library. If you put a children's section in a PUBLIC library, expect children to yell and talk. Libraries are places for children to grow and learn, with librarians constantly hovering over children, acting like a "Shush Patrol," learning is far from obtainable. Previously I had thought of libraries as a wondrous world where the horizon is endless; but here in this museum, the farthest you can get to is maybe ten minutes before you have to leave out if "disruption." Maybe if there was a wall or a door sound wouldn't travel as far! Next time hire an interior designer that can design a library, not an art museum. I came in multiple times with my big family and as soon as we came in we were starred at like a tropical flick of misplaced birds. Even if my family was listening perfectly and had a few noises over whispers, we do have a baby, a librarian will still come over. Children can get exited over games, but when a librarian comes over around every 10 minutes or so to tell us we are to loud, that is just unacceptable. They are subjective toward larger families. Coming in by myself, I felt comfortable, but when children come in and they talk, they will always shush them. Also, this library is kept at around 50°, I am freezing in my tax money.

Feedback:

Very nice new library, full of natural sunlight, and big comfy chairs. If you need to surf the web or look at the newest Southern Living this is the place for you. There are not large tables to sit down and spread out ones work except for the study rooms. The study rooms are available for one hour or longer if no one else request to use it. During the school year..many of high school and middle school kids (schools are literally next door) clamber to the facility. They use the computers next to the study rooms (personally I find this a design flaw). From what I could see there was a lot of socializing and video game playing. Most of the students are polite, but there are so many! You can hear everything that is going on outside of the study rooms, so they kind of become senseless at that point (design flaw number 2). I can't help but wonder if parents are unable to get or meet their children after school so they send them to the library? Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm thinking this branch was designed with the needs of most users taken into consideration, but it is not a serious "study type" library. It seems more for the reader and computer user. Oh yes... baby sitting service too. Some librarians seem glued to their chairs and don't seem to be interested in helping, while others are more helpful. I have returned to graduate school late in life and the libraries I'm used to were different. Maybe it's how things are now? One can look on the computer find their book and scan it out themselves, with out the least bit of interaction with the person who holds the library science degree. I guess these folks must be doing something behind the scenes? If you get a DVD the librarian has to unlock it..after you check it out of course. I'll give this library 3 stars, because of the light, and the kiddy library looks good.
