Keeping its size in mind - it’s not bad. I’ve heard that this airport used to operate commercial flights, but that is definitely not the case anymore. For commercial flights with Azul or Gol you need to drive one hour to the Itamar Franco airport (near Rio Novo). I fly here on charter flights, and since the airport is literally on a hill, the runway is short and ends as the cliff ends; this is of course not the best. I’ve found the staff here to always be very nice. The airport has a small parking lot that definitely fits its demand. Overall I would think a city like Juiz de Fora (considering its 500,000+ population) should have an airport closer than a one hour drive, but for charter flights this airport is good.
