Lived at the base from 1984-88. The best years of my childhood. Came back after 33 years to vacation in Okinawa and tour the base. I tried to enter the base twice and was turned away. You need a sponsor if you want to tour the base. My father reached out to some people and got me a sponsor. She drove us around and I was able to tour the base :-) even after 33 years, visiting my old house and school seemed like yesterday. ❤️
