My spouse and I hired Ross Corcoran of LangAtholl to design and execute a two-day tour in Scotland that needed to cover sites related to our ancestry. We knew only that my people, the Wisharts, had had a member burned at St. Andrews and that my spouse's people, the Buchans, had included a famous author, John Buchan. The Buchans were, we thought, from the Highlands but I had no idea where the Wisharts may have been from. Ross researched for us the locales relevant to our ancestry (Glasgow, Ellon, St. Andrews{ and managed along the way to show us the gorgeous spring countryside and Loch Lomond. He was knowledgeable, courteous, friendly, talkative when we wanted that and quiet when we didn't, guided us to the most delightful hotels, cafes, and drove safely--don't know how he managed that when he consistently drove on the left side of the road! He even managed to get my spouse, the Buchan, an interview with the current chief of the old clan. Remarkable.We liked our two days with Ross almost more than the cruise of the northern isles of Scotland that then ensued. Highly recommend LangAtholl. (And he was not the least abashed that my spouse is a woman.)
