Client Review on LaSalle Public Library

Feedback:

You couldn't ask for kinder, more helpful staff to help you use the vast resources of this library. Use computers, check out books, take home DVDs (they have at least a few thousand classics and tv series compilations, documentaries, travel shows etc.), audio-books, plenty of magazines and newspapers available, but that's just the start. They have a fun genealogical room with NewsTrib on microfiche, a children's library area that is second to none, the Westclox clock collection, and they have plenty of entertaining cultural programming. They're always going the extra mile to help me locate something to enrich my travels or teach me something new. The architecture of the place alone is worth a stop (it's a Carnegie library, and the original building and addition were done beautifully, with pillars and stained glass). La Salle is blessed to have this wonderful resource and the amazing and dedicated people who have made the place great all these decades. Fully wheelchair accessible- park on lowest level (along Third Street) to use the elevator, as the other entrance has stairs. This lower level contains the interactive children's library. I enjoying looking through decommissioned books and art magazines for sale in the corner upstairs- usually these books are $.25 to a dollar. Many new books carried at the library are available as e-books, or large print, and if they don't have what you seek, just ask and they'll do what they can to find what you want from a partner library.
