I have worked for Makai for over 20 years as a Maritime Consultant and in the field brand ambassador. I have always been treated fairly and compensated for work performed. Long days and hard work but a great time every time.

Makai's CEO, Robbie Thain, hired me to help write a few proposals, and additional content for their materials when I first moved to LA, and before my job at WPP. Being a guy from the East Coast, with 8 years at Publicis Groupe, I was shocked by the laid back nature of the company. But, soon, I realized these people were incredibly talented, smart, and creative. The last three months were a blast, and I wish them well. Awesome boutique agency!

I hired Makai, Inc. on two separate occasions while with two different media publishers (Top News Site, and a Top Food website). The first was an outstanding experiential marketing event for a top Consumer Electronics client which resulting in a renewal of our advertising campaign with them. Makai's staff had an intuitive knowledge of my client, and were diligent (and amazingly creative). The second, last summer, was for a CPG client that incorporated three levels of consumer engagement that Makai just nailed! Because Makai was my vendor representing my publishers I need to remain anonymous, but I was blown away by Makai's execution, and the creativity of their team.

(This Agency does not even deserve one star)This Agency is THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL Agency I have ever worked for. I worked an event with them two months ago. After trying to contact them in regards to my check, I received two different emails of course, weeks apart. One of them stating my check had been processed by the end of September and another email saying my check was processed at the end of October. It's the end of November I have not heard from them, I have emailed their accounting Department a couple of times, and I have called and left a couple of Voicemail's as well, of course, no one has emailed or called back. DO NOT work for this agency EVER! Besides the fact that they have not paid me, when I arrived at the location they did not have a Uniform for me, after they said they had it.

Wonderful company, wonderful people. We've used Makai throughout the years from experiential marketing to helping boost our social media stature. All ventures with Makai have ROI'd strongly. Highly recommend these folks.
