This review is for Kristen Arnhoelter who recently switched to this salon. While this incident took place while she worked at Capella a few months back, I still feel incredibly compelled to write this review so every potential client and her employer also know of this experience. I came for an appointment with Kristen 12/23/2018 for highlights on my curly 3b hair. Upon arriving, I quickly noticed her rushed and busy demeanor. She then began repeatedly questioning my choice to do highlights, in what seemed to be an effort to allow her to go home early. Though she insisted it was for the health of my hair, it was clear she did not want to do it, and/or was not confident in her skills in doing so without frying my hair. Kristen said, and I quote, "If you had hair more like Gisele it would be easier". I did not come into a salon that specializes in curly hair, to be told that it is basically hard for them to do my hair because it is curly. I feel she personally does not enjoy curly highlighted hair, so refuses to do clients who want this, or she is not confident in her skills. Or maybe it is because I do not look "more like Gisele".The photo I have attached, is after the work of a confident stylist in MIAMI, FL. Full head bleached, have even recently added highlights, and my hair has never been healthier. It is possible to healthily bleach your curly hair, for a reasonable price, with a stylist who is not discriminatory towards you. Tip for people who want to bleach curly hair and maintain health: TRY A PH BONDER IN THE BLEACHIf any curly ladies, can reference me some salons in LA that they have had positive experiences with please contact me! It has been a nightmare, and I will not be pushed to hate my curls by stylist who are not skilled in dealing with them.
