For the love of God, if you are struggling with your mental health DO NOT GO TO PEACE RIVER. They are hands down the worst clinic and staff I have ever encountered anywhere. 45 minutes for them to answer the phone, hour long wait times in the office, staff with complete lack of compassion and general regard for human life. Zero mental health training, a bazillion patients to one doctor (whom i like but is so overwhelmed.)Worst experience ever. Its been consistently garbage since I started coming here 1.5 yrs ago.ETA: its been over a month after getting a reply to my review and absolutely nothing has changed.

Have to wait months on out for appointments. Showed up at time that was given to you only to be turned away saying your 45 mins late and we have a strick policy. So have to wait another month for the offices mistake.

The only thing I don't like is when your changed over to a different dr.within the building after you've become comfortable talking to the one you'd had but can't see them anymore cause they retired :( but at least my new Dr is nice :)

I cannot believe how they treat people here. It's repulsive. I felt so disrespected every time I have gone here, but honestly today was the worst. The first time I arrived here was for a "triage" for counseling. I arrived at 7:45, and did all the paperwork, yet somehow they entered the wrong name and insurance information. They asked me to redo everything. By the time I was finally checked in correctly it was after 10:30, and I was told that at that time I was unable to see someone today unless I had a scheduled appointment. The receptionist didn't even apologize. She just suggested that I make an appointment to see a counselor. So, I did. Three weeks later I arrived 30 minutes early for my appointment as I was advised to do. I sat in the lobby for almost two hours before being called back. I was asked a couple of questions about my mental and family history, which lasted about 15 minutes. Then I was told that I would have to schedule a psychiatric evaluation before being set up to see a counselor regularly, and I was sent on my way to the front desk. The nearest psychiatric appointment they claimed to have was three months away. In that time I struggled with whatever it is that I am feeling, and wondering if I will ever feel like myself again. Finally the day came. I showed up early, only to be told that my appointment was cancelled. I was informed that someone tried to call me on June 23 (more than a month before my appointment), and my voicemail was full, so they cancelled my appointment. Again, there was no apology. I was simply told that I would be rescheduled and that the "nearest" appointment is in November. They , did not care to ask of my availability. They just scheduled me a time and handed me an appointment card. I had hand the card back and TELL them that I was NOT available for that day and time. At least they rescheduled me right then and there to something that worked better for me. As a person who has been struggling with something I doesn't even understand, how am I supposed to feel that I can be helped when I'm treated like this? This is not a what I expected at all. This entire experience has only made me feel worse about myself, and my future. They're logo claims that Peace River has "compassionate people", yet I was made to feel like I didn't matter. I left today feeling broken, lost, and alone, when I arrived feeling eager, and hopeful. Thanks Peace River for making getting help a very negative experience. I would give no stars if I could.

Wait time was super long with no updates, so I had to leave. I waited two hours when I was told 20 minutes. 2 stars because they seem to be doing great things & the staff was friendly.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. This place is a joke! I have been trying to get my 7 yr old to see the psychiatrist and two times in a row after waiting weeks for an appt, we showed up to be told that the Dr. wasnt in that day. Leaving work early and getting my child out of school early TWICE then not even seeing a doctor is not acceptable. No management on staff to discuss my frustration both times. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AT THIS FACILITY!

I have had a good experience with my treatment since being a patient and have no complaints against any of the people who work there as they were always helpful and kind anytime I had interaction with them.The doctor was very easy to talk to and worked diligently on finding a plan that would work for me.Until one day after seeing her for about 6 months, (without cause), she randomly ordered a drug screen before she saw me and again at every monthly appointmentafter that.I was offended and felt like I was on probation or in trouble and this caused future visits to be extremely stressful because of my anxiety. I tested clean on every drug screen so I started feeling offended when the tests continued, to the point I was ready to stop all treatment so I didn't have to go through that experience every month. It would stress me out so bad all month long until the appointment was over.I haven't stopped going though, because getting better is the goal here and this place has put me on the right path so the benefits outweigh the invasion of privacy I would highly recommend this place to anyone needing treatment.
