I use to do a lot of business with Pro Chemical & Dye when I was dba as Fit To Be Tie-Dyed; I want to tell you about my recent horror story with them so you know what to do and what not to do while placing your order. First of all, I stopped doing business with them for a while b/c I had bought fabric in bulk from them on a number of occasions and once I received textiles that were stained (I guess they figured the fabric was getting dyed so what the heck). Another time I bought a aluminum silkpainting frame that has elastic as the mechanism for keeping the fabric taut and little hooks stretched the fabric, the hooks damaged the fabric and when the elastic got blown-out Pro-Chem told me they had no replacement elastic. On yet another occasion I bought Pebeo Silk Dyes that had to be steam-set, I did everything to the letter and the colors washed out; so the dyes must have been old and I wrote it off and took the hit.I was robbed of all my business equipment (had nothing to do with Pro Chem) and long story short, I needed receipts to file a police report and Pro Chem was nice enough to mail me ALL my invoices (that had been destroyed by a leak in my apartment in 2011). I said if I ever get back on my feet, I'd give them my business; even though ALJO dyes are fellow New Yorkers and I could buy cash and carry (no shipping charges). So. I was trying to get back into tie-dye and I put in an order online, BIG MISTAKE and the 2nd mistake was choosing Fed Ex Ground (another company I stopped doing business with for reasons I'm going to state). After I put in my order on Pro Chem's website I get a phone call that the website had a bug and I wasn't charged enough money (it was an $11.00 difference), I said no problem yet in my head I was saying "already I don't like this!". I was told the order was going out the next day; they're about six hours from the Bronx, so I was going to get my order within 3 days. That was the 15th of November (today Fed Ex tried to deliver, I already had Capital One Bank dispute the order so I sent it back. Fed Ex Ground claims they couldn't deliver the order b/c there was NO APARTMENT NUMBER (which was why I stopped doing business with them in the first place). I let my guard down with Fed Ex and sure enough, got screwed again. NEVER AGAIN!Now you be the judge, I know I included the apartment number; burn me once ..., did their website mess that up too? Who knows? My advice is if you order with this company:A.) Make your order by phone.B.) DO NOT USE FED EX GROUND (you can't fix stupid); my name was on the package, one of their ridiculous notifications said the package went to Morris Ave. (I live on Morris Park Ave.).Let the buyer beware!!! I thank Capital One for having my back, me, I'll be sticking with a higher end product, silkpainting and took the experience as the universe trying to tell me to forget about dime a dozen, tie-dyes (your lucky if you can make $5 profit on a shirt and will NEVER get paid for your labor, cost of production and shipping/handling).Lesson learned! From now on I'll give my business to ALJO and Dharma Trading Co. (whose order went off w/o a hitch.
