Client Review on Richland County Public Library

Feedback:

The new place is friendly, stylish and well-organized... But I feel like the old version actually serviced more people. The old version had several tables with outlets on them for charging laptops and tablets while you work/read. There were individual "study tables" that lined the walls. I came here a lot to do school work. Now that they've re-opened, I can't really do that anymore. There's no place to sit with your books except for a "stylish" bar-style table with tall stools and narrow seats. Your feet can't touch the floor, and the average butt doesn't fit on top. How long are you expected to sit on these before you start fighting feelings of pain and discomfort? The only other place to sit is in the event room, which is of course off limits during the many events the various library branches have (they have great events, btw!). There appear to be two study rooms that can be "checked out" that are usually occupied by kids getting tutored, which I'm happy they have a nice place to work like that. In all, I feel like when designing the new place the staff must have been asked: "What problems would you like to see solved after the renovation?" and their response must have been along the lines of "People spend too much time here!" Well, problem solved.
