Very disappointed with the response to a complaint I made with the department on Sunday, Jul 28. Someone is purportedly selling cars online out of Rio Rancho (A&J Motors,1601 Golf Course Rd, SE). They are using Facebook marketplace to market these non-existent vehicles. Tried to report it to RR PD, and was told that I have to report it to my local PD (a very small outfit 90 miles away from Rio Rancho.) Explanation was that my PD would then forward the info to Rio Rancho PD. Inefficient, and indicative of a department that really doesn't care about its own citizenry very much. Sad commentary on law enforcement in Rio Rancho. Maintain a comfortable bureaucratic distance from the people you are actually tasked to help.
