I TRULY, TRULY regret the day I decided to partner with this agency.I had a verbal agreement with a SQ2 director to subcontract to them a new website design for a very top Toronto real estate team I was pitching on inbound marketing. I spent MANY hours cultivating this new client opportunity including 2 meetings on my own with them & 30 pg proposal before inviting SQ2 to a 3rd meeting. However, as soon as this meeting finished, problems with SQ2 started. First, they quoted the client directly. This violated our verbal agreement of their position as a subcontractor and to send all quotes to me only so I could add in my own margin & quote myself. I wasn't invited to any subsequent project meetings, and once the deal closed they refused to pay me a cent of their $17,500 fee. Only then did I realize to SQ2 I wasn't a business partner, I was merely a stepping stone. Then the CEO had the audacity to suggest I should collect a referral fee from the client directly. Unbelievable!
