I couldn't give it a lower number. We have rented from Sunset Vacations for the last 10 years. First year at Amazing Grace and had good luck. We decided we would like to rent 400 Argyle Point (1809 East Main Street) as the views are beautiful at the end of the street. First few years weren't bad but in the last five years the house has declined. We had met the old owners when we came early one year and they were very nice. Now I'm not sure they are in the picture any more. Believe its their daughter Susanna McKellar who's now the owner. She's the one who sunset vacations tells us doesn't want do some upgrades. She's complicit in the decline of the house. This year alone my husband called about a downspout that was laying on the ground. Sunday vacations never showed up to put it back up so he had his tools and did it himself. He also cleaned out the dryer vent and replaced the flapper that goes on it to keep out birds. He put a deflector back up over the a/c vent in the master bedroom because it was blowing on my head. I got here and cleaned the toilets, vacuumed the floors, which were filthy, mopped the floors and washed the rugs because they were totally gross! Just saying after 10 years we'll be looking for a new rental and rental company for our 3 weeks vacation!

We had 2 families stay in Sunset Beach this year: one through Sunset Properties, and the other through Sunset Vacations. The difference was incredible. The family who went through Properties paid far less for far more: their house was cleaner, newer, and better - everything from appliances to furniture to views; the service was far superior, and the amenities weren't even close. We will switch companies moving forward.

Asked for rental places for bikes and they gave us one place. Bikes were incredibly rusty and seats couldn't be adjusted. We could barely pedal them. Went with another company. I read the other reviews. Seems as though something is amiss.

I would never refer any guests to this place of business. Met with no return phone calls and when asking questions wasn't getting answers. Asked to speak with Barbara the GM and was told she wasn't it today. Then 2 minutes later I get a call back from Cathy, and low and behold Barbara is 'in' today after all. After Cathy put me on hold and was being told I was being transferred, I was disconnected. After calling back and listening for several minutes to voice mail, Barbara picks up the phone. I'm a local business and have been in business for 9 years and she tells me that she likes another company because she knows them. Well heck, I don't know any of the realty company owners around here but they put me on their websites. It's not that big of a deal, I just wanted to see if there was some underlying issue and I believe there is and I just wanted to be able to straighten out any concern as she said 'the other guy does more than product offerings' than my company and I said, not so, as we also have the same exact product offerings as well. No response to that question. I guess there must be some kickback taking place. I've run into that before and I refuse to do business with any realtor offering that.It's a shame. We're a good company with lower prices than anyone else. Ii guess Sunset Vacations wants to refer their customers only to the most expensive vendor in the area versus the less expensive one. That's typical of alot of mom and pop companies unfortunately. My hat is off To Barbara, who is the Broker in Charge. I wonder how much kick-back she's getting?When I asked Barbara for the owners name, she refused to give it to me and stated 'he's just a 'silent' owner' and doesn't get involved. Wow, ok. I may be a silent owner but it's still my business and for those off you whom want to know the owners name, it's Greg Gore of Calabash, NC and if you have a negative experience with Sunset Vacations, the owners name is Greg Gore and he can be found at Century 21 Sunset Beach.after I posted this review I got an emailJust got an email from the Broker in Charge, Barbara Hewitt who says the 'guy' they refer to is dependable and trustworthy. Well with that let me share with you then. This 'guy' worked for Firehouse Canopies and the owner called me one day and asked me how many was the 'guy' who was managing Firehouse Canopies how many tents was he setting up each day and I told him, i'm not sure but that from his truck it looks like over 20 a day. He was wondering because he sneaked down one day and walked the beach unbeknownst to the 'guy' managing his company so the owner proceeded to tell me, he wasn't supposed to set up more than 15 per day. So all the while Sunset Properties was referring business to this 'guy' who literally was embezzling funds from his owner. An owner whom went out of his way to give him a job and co-signed for him a condo (which by the way, the owner got stuck property damage claims) to live in. Yeah. I in no way wish to associate myself or my company whom refers company's who do this. Terrible, just terrible.I"m not perfect by any means either. I have my share of complaints as well, as do all the businesses here. It's working with the public and no one will ever get 100% of them happy, no matter how hard we try, but I do try, I give itjavascript:void(0) my best daily. I only have one income and this is it. It's been a drama filled day, but so glad I'm finding out more about the business practices of Barbara Hewitt the Broker in Charge. Since they don't care about your issues, then call the owner directly. I've left his number in the post above.
