I attended an estate sale on Brattle Rd and was completely turned off. The home was beautiful, but things seemed to be way over priced. One customer offered $5 for a handbag that would have sold for $1 at most garage sales. The woman running the sale and her associates made it seem like it was an outrageous offer and were quite vocal about it. They loudly shamed and pressured her in a way that made me decide to leave. (She did, as well.) It just was not a very friendly atmosphere. Several people at another sale in the same neighborhood had the same opinion. I would hope that if I hired someone to run an estate sale for me, they would treat customers with more grace and tact.
