I love CUTCO and Vector! Little long, but so overdue! I started working at Vector Marketing/CUTCO nearly 15 years ago. I had no idea how much of an impact the 3 years I spent working solely at Vector/CUTCO would have on my career development. Not to mention, 15 years later, I STILL use my set of CUTCO every single day. In my first summer working at Vector, in just 3 months, I was able to learn how to run my own business, challenge myself, and reach my goal of becoming a Field Sales Manager. I learned how to manage my time, set SMART goals, create rapport with customers, and I learned what an incredible product CUTCO really was. I also learned that my grandmother had a set that was over 30 years old and was in amazing shape for all of the years it had been used, I continued to meet other customers like her over the years. In my first summer, I made enough to cover my fall tuition. It was an incredible feeling to tell my parents that I could pay for part of the year. I continued to sell around my classes when I went back to school at CMU and reported into the Lansing office to Tina Marie. I moved into assistant manager training, where I gained presentation skills, communication skills, learned how to interview and train employees, and how to hold others accountable. I really enjoyed working in the team environment, the conferences, trips, and rewards were amazing. I built a customer base of over 300 customers and still sell CUTCO when past customers need wedding gifts or want to expand their set. After graduating college with 3 years of business experience at Vector, I was able to choose from multiple job offers. Now 15 years later, I have since worked both in the private and public sector in marketing and logistics and at 3 separate fortune 500 companies. I now reside in NYC and currently manage pricing for a company with over $1B in revenue. I have lived in and visited multiple areas of the country and I am never far from a connection I made through Vector. The rapid progression in my career after graduation would not have been possible without the foundations of business management that I learned hands-on through Vector Marketing. Tina Marie knows how to inspire others to do their very best and has become a great mentor and friend over the years. I count myself lucky to have met her so early in my career.I made incredible connections with young, driven people who have went on to do amazing things. It is now 15 years later I realize that in those 3 years I made some of my best, most fun, lifelong friends and laid the foundation for a successful career.
