If you enjoy poor service and being ignored, then by all means, put Hotel Villa Maria on your "must visit" list. My girlfriend and I set out specifically for this well-thought-of and highly-rated location from our place in Praiano after it was recommended to us. It is truly a beautiful place and the views are incredible back down to the sea. But after being ignored for nearly 30 minutes in a mostly empty restaurant, this was going downhill faster than a runaway bus from Ravello to Castiglione. No greeting, no water, no menu. After flagging down two waiters who only feigned interest in accommodating us, it was "tempo di partire"...time to go. We spoke to a manager on the way out who was lovely and offered to "fix it", but by then our excitement was lost and the mood irrevocably changed...very difficult to re-capture that once it's gone. I believe taking a minute to glimpse the view inside the gates of Hotel Villa Maria is definitely worth your while, but save yourself the frustration of being treated like "ceto basso" and find your way to one of the other many delightful places in Ravello. This rating is based purely on the service and not on the food as I didn't get to experience it, so take it with a grain of salt.

Very nice restaurant with stunning views. The staff are extremely kind and the food was very good. Only two comments are that the meatballs were more breadcrumbs than meat which was a dissapointment and the prices are a bit high. True score would be a 4.5 - Still worth a visit!

Hotel Villa Maria is absolutely beautiful - we only wish we were staying there for a couple days longer. We stayed in the Junior Suite which was massive, clean and modern. The hotel is very beautiful and the restaurant in the hotel is just divine. The food was exceptional there. The views were beautiful and it's a less than 10min walk to the city centre, Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone. We fell in love with Ravello and would definitely go back and stay here again.
