This made a really excellent overnight stop close to the Ropery venue where we went to a Snake Davis and John Ellis concert. Colin even offered us a lift to it! Bardney Hall is a pleasant red brick house of the minor stately home kind - it is tastefully decorated and has large well kept lawns in attractive gardens - which are looked after, but not unnaturally manicured in a National Trust fashion. It is near the middle of the little historic town of Barton-upon-Humber, but is surprisinlgy peaceful, because of its being on a quiet road and having ample grounds.
