Cried upon arrival and misled...1301 Ocean Drive, Emerald Isle.I've never been so disappointed by a beach rental in my life. We're a military family and my husband just returned from a deployment. This was our fun beach vacation and we had people coming to visit us. I was completely embarrassed by the property. The property was SOLD during our stay and we were inconvenienced on not one, but two occasions. Absolutely inexcusable. The listing agent should've informed Vrbo and we should've been given an option to stay elsewhere. They 'the real estate rental company' told me upon check-in there was a showing at the property on the Tuesday. I'm an understanding person and was willing to accommodate. When they called to confirm, they said it was a 'final inspection' and would take 30 minutes. They were there more than 2 hours. Would you allow this on your vacation? If I was told that upon arrival, I would've understood more what was going on and tried to change this stay at that time. I was misled and not given proper notice of the situation. On Thursday, the new owner wanted cable installed and inconvenienced us again. Rude and completely unacceptable. The installation technician interrupted our lunch and said he'd be 10 minutes. He was more than an hour. Again, would you like this on your vacation? The listing of this property was quite inaccurate for what it really was, there were cockroaches, the house was dirty, outdated and unwelcoming. They provided linens and I had to put them on myself, that's one thing, but the bedspreads were not washed from prior stays, were stained and foul. I wanted to gag. Light bulbs were out, the mattresses were uncomfortable, and the couch had the most disgusting slip covers I've ever seen. I didn't sit on the couch the entirety of my stay. We left a day early we were so disgusted by the entire situation. I feel completely robbed of a nice stay at a waterfront property. The view and the beach didn't even make up for this horrendous show. I will not use use this company in the future, nor will I recommend them to any my friends. The stay was a negative and I would not give a single star if I was given the option.
