I recently called this shelter seeking a safe place to go for my kids and I. Its a few hours away from where we live, but I was desperate at the time. A lady answered the phone and I asked if they had room for a mom and four kids. She told me to hold, but must have forgotten to press the mute button. I heard her saying this to her coworker “should I tell her she can only bring two of her kids?” They both laughed. She came back to the phone and didn’t realize I heard what she just said. She said they were full and then I hung up. I couldn’t believe that someone could be so heartless. She’s supposed to help women get out of abusive households. Instead she’s making jokes about battered women with her coworkers. My situation is nothing to joke about. She made me feel hopeless and embarrassed to be in this situation. A mother of four, with no where to go. I would never, ever suggest this place to anyone.

My daughter stayed here. The older white haired woman is very immature for her age she taunted my daughter who suffers from depression and learning disability befire she put her out for cussing out some nosy unhappy trick with three kids whom all the staff members adored and complimented. The staff members never treated my daughter special or like she was worth anything. She also has a special needs kid. This shelter i would not recommend. The white haired one is the director u would think since her husband died of cancer she wouldn't be so evil and mean.

I will NEVER suggest this place to ANYONE!! I recieved a gas card with no money on it and I called the director who was VERY VERY RUDE to me, and asked me what I wanted. The girls there are there for SUPPORT AND ASSURANCE and the services I hear from multiple girls no one should ever go through the poor treatment from a crisis center like these girls do. This so called "safe place" is nothing but threats of being kicked out and being called lazy. Never will I support this crisis center due to the director.
