I was transported to Jackson and back from Martin today. Johnathon -- not sure exactly how he spells it -- who was my return driver, was great.Also, for those not familiar with NWTHRA, the prices are outstanding. Just $15 for a round-trip ride to Jackson (about 100 miles) that I was able to schedule to meet my needs was awesome. HOWEVER -- and that's a BIG however -- if you want to have a chance of managing to book a ride, even if it's in-town here in Martin, you'll have to call AT LEAST a week ahead of time. However, in my experience, as of recently, callng just one week in advance isn't sufficient. The Internet would provide access to more people who need public transportation. It'd be easy to implement, too. Even if you DID have to call to actually book an appointment, it'd be so helpful to at least be able to check the availability of rides by date and time. All in all, at least small-town Martin has a public transportation system. It's affordable and reliable, IMO.
