Feedback:

Prices are outrageous. They force you to have a home phone that is only limited to local calling. If the T-Mobile/Sprint merger goes through, which is looking very likely it will, they're going after rural internet providers, like Polar. And will offer way more, for way less. Polar is going to lose a lot of customers when that day comes, unless they adjust their prices and make them more reasonable. Yes the internet for the most part is reliable, but you can get that same reliability with other cities and states for half of what polar charges....and they don't require you to have a landline! But go ahead polar and keep taking advantage of monopolizing the market. Ain't gonna last much longer.

Feedback:

It is absolutely ridiculous how much these people charge compared to United Communications, Midco, hell even Comcast. It is modern day highway robbery. Not to mention they force you to have a home phone that’s only limited to local calling. Welcome to 1980, polar!

Feedback:

Monopoly, that's what this company is. When asking why their prices were so high, after moving out of Grand Forks to a small town, they replied "This isn't Grand Forks, we are the only company to offer service out here." So, you get estimated charges of $185.00 for just internet, and the lines are already ran into the house, it had Polar before! And there are other fees. And someone has to come out to the house to do a "full installation" because it has been a few years since the service was active. I have everything I need in the house, right up to the ethernet wire to plug into my router. The logic with pricing is confusing and misleading. Install fee is $185 despite the form that I need to fax in saying $150. Looks like an extra $150 for video, which is already in my house. And loads of other installation fees if you want more devices. So I'm stuck paying $94 a month for the mandatory phone line and 30 megabit internet. It was $50 a month through Midco and I got 75 mb internet which worked flawlessly and they did not charge a single install fee, and I could even use my own modem to save money. So, even if I chose to do this install, it could only been done between 8:30 and 2 pm, and only Tues, Wed, or Thurs. Seriously? People have jobs. I can't take a vacation day just to have someone install this. So I will be going with Hughes Net, it looks to be cheaper and less frustration.

Feedback:

The "internet" these people provide is total garbage. it constantly disconnects. You'd have a better internet connection using a dial-up modem. Their cable prices are also absurd, and they come up with pathetic excuses as to why they are bumped up so much. One time it went up 13 DOLLARS! And they had the guts to blame it on a local news station

Feedback:

I haven't had any of the problems I've read in other reviews. Fastest internet for the price I've seen in the valley. Customer service has always been easy and effective. When I moved it was an easy and timely transition.

Feedback:

Awesome internet, ALWAYS connected.

Feedback:

Thank you Polar, so far so good!

Feedback:

After finding a new residence i started looking at available ISP's in the area and what they had to offer. I found Polar Communications. Trying to navigate through their terribly designed webpage, i found the list of available speeds and prices they offer for internet. Not only are they more than double the price of other ISP's for the same price, but after contacting them to discuss the pricing, i had found out that the actual prices are even more. These higher priced services are then made even higher with being forced to have a phone line because per customer service "We are a phone company, they require the phone line because that is what they want". So in order to have ridiculously over priced internet, i am then forced to have a phone line that i am not going to use. So even though i am not happy with their prices or services, i have to sign up with them due to the face that internet is required for my job. The customer service representative tells me it will be $150 to have someone come out and install a router for me, i said that i am able to do that myself, she then tells me that Self Installation costs $75. $75 to set up my own router that i had purchased, and if something is wrong with the Service or that the internet does not work, i will be charged the $75 for Self installation and another $150 to have someone come out and fix it. I have seen some shady ass ISP's before, but in my experience this is by far the worst i have ever seen. Lets all hope that MidCo can make it out into the rural area's soon enough.

Feedback:

They pad their bill, you have to call every month to remind them you don't want/Need that extra that extra option so remove the fee. SPENDY monthly bill

Feedback:

Was a customer for years after they bought Midco out bill doubled but at least had fiber. I moved away have not been a customer for two years. My house up north is now sitting empty I wanted to put some cameras up. I called for a hook up had router plugged in thinking could be done as the ten seconds they disconnected it when I moved. Now they want a 80 dollar deposit and 180 install fee. I asked what do they have to install. Well we have to put you in the computer. But I paid 180 install years ago when you installed the equipment it hasn’t moved from the basement I replied. She than said it’s standard procedure. I remover now why was happy to moved away. Always had problems with the service. I told her I would get a version jet pack and still be money ahead. It’s not like I was a new customer in a new house.
