I have never encountered a more rude individual then I did this past week in the library. I have been a patron for 34 years and have contributed to many things here, as requested. This employee of RP library needs to hone in on her skills when it comes to dealing with the public.

This place is really nice. It has good AC and well heating system, also the books are in good condition. They try to get new books as fast as they can. Whenever theyres a problem, theyll be happy to help!

I absolutely love this place. Nice, helpful, welcoming staff -- always smiling. Bright and cheerful atmosphere.Throughout the year, this library has something fun for all ages -- from monthly movies to authors' visits and lectures to weekly adult coloring to crochet for children, teens, and adults. Their seasonal activities and gatherings are great as well. I especially look forward to the summer reading raffles, and the book and bake sales. Though it does not happen every year, the multicultural potluck party to celebrate Thanksgiving is an absolute blast. Jump to register when you see the potluck.This library is also part of the Bergen County Cooperative Library System. Pronounced “BUCKLES," the BCCLS is comprised of 77 public libraries in Essex, Hudson, Passaic, and Bergen counties. Via online requests (best way) or with the help of a librarian, you can rent materials from all of those libraries. For DVD lovers, it's like having 77 Blockbusters at your fingertips. I rented one particularly obscure movie that I last saw when I was age 5 and never thought I would see again! Fantastic!EDIT: Now the library offers monthly board games for adults. HOORAY!

TERRIBLE SERVICE! BEWARE!!!!! I would love to love these people, but I have been disappointed so many times by their failures. Multiple times I returned a children's book myself and then saw that it was not checked off my child's card and received a $20 lost book fine. I went to the library, pulled the book off the shelf and showed it to the librarian that it was indeed returned, and was told, "OK, We'll take the $20 lost book fine off your card." Well, it's OK if it happened once, but several times???? I also returned books which had been checked out at other neighboring libraries and which either didn't get returned to their home library or were returned damaged. The public libraries will tell you that there is no appeal. Their decision on lost items is final, even if the patron knows it is the library's own ineptness. I would think this is just carelessness, but it costs $20 per lost book, and their fines would now be over $100. The library has the police department send a letter to collect fines or face a misdemeanor. You are warned. Make sure that your books are really checked off your card or you are on the hook for the lost book fine.
