Feedback:

Huxley Communications said I have a weak router. The person I talk to said I could pick one up at the office. I have their interest service. The router would be approx $125.00 with me installing it.

Feedback:

This could be the worst internet I have had! Can’t even stream tv shows or movies without it buffering every 30 seconds to a minute. I do a test to see how many mbps I’m getting and most of the time it is 9 or less.

Feedback:

I will have to say even Mediacom has better internet service...always buffering and when you are watching TV it keeps freezing specially during peak hours! Extremely frustrating and dissatisfied with the whole thing. Hopefully they can get it together and update the quality of internet service.

Feedback:

Good service on phone calls and problems. Sometimes non-competitive pricing on services.

Feedback:

The internet quality is pretty awful most of the time. If you happen to be on during a "busy" time so (anytime after 3pm), your speed tends to drop significantly due to the amount of stress on their servers. On a bad day, it's almost impossible to use their internet service. We're paying for the 8mbps and have never hit that speed. We tend to top out at 5 on a good day. Recently, we've had to start paying for a landline as well. We never use it, but are required to have one to have internet. There was a flyer/notification that was sent out awhile ago about Huxley Communications installing fiber optics. However, I am assuming that's for the higher speeds as we have not seen any improvement. It's hard to fairly judge their prices against the mega-internet companies (like Mediacom) as Mediacom charges for things like routers, etc. and don't tell you the real price until you've signed up. Not only that but often those big companies require contracts and then jack up the price after one year. However, Huxley Com. charges $95 for 100mbps which, based on what we've had, means you're really paying $95 for 80-90mbps. I find that to be rather expensive. However, there are a couple of positives that they must be given credit for. One, they do not require a contract. Two, the one time they came out, they were courteous, quick and punctual.I would just like to be receiving the speeds for which I am paying for and wished they would lower their fairly high prices at least a tad.

Feedback:

UPDATE 4/11/2018: Now that we've had the new fiber service for a few months, I'm beyond happy to update the review of Huxcomm. With the new fiber service, Huxcomm has gone from following the industry to being one of the best in Iowa. Very happy with the speeds, reliability, and new pricing.----------(Old Review)Huxcomm is a small, local coop that cares a lot about and does a lot for the community. They heavily support the local schools, businesses, and organizations through donations and sometimes offering free services to public locations such as libraries. That being said, their Internet services in Kelley aren't always reliable. The service often experiences massive slowdowns (From around 8Mbps down to as slow as 0.75Mbps down) and occasionally completely cuts out. Beyond that, the pricing is much, much higher than the national average. The customer support and service is decent, and staff members such as Mike Leeds keep in reliable, constant contact when you need them or report an issue.I'm waiting to see how the deployment of a new fiber optic network effects the services and speeds that we get. I'm hoping it's for the better.

Feedback:

This used to be a 2 star review because we were paying way too much for some of the slowest speeds in the country. Recently they've upgraded and tripled our speed (to the national average) at no extra cost and now our internet issues are virtually non-existent.

Feedback:

One of their techs or whatever threw his water bottle at my Jeep when I drove by him. Great customer service huh? Not to mention internet quality isn’t all that great. And non competitive prices.

Feedback:

Love our internet service

Feedback:

I've been using their internet service for 5 months and I've had no issues regarding speed or downtime. They were helpful during installation. Now that they have increased their network speeds, I feel that they are much more competitive with other internet providers. I also feel better supporting a local company.
