Bre Berlin was absolutely amazing! She answered all of my questions about my auto insurance policy and remained flexible as I transitioned from one state to another and sold my car. When I requested changes to my policy, Bre made them effective immediately. She was also very thorough and honest with varying options within the policy, which is a rarity in this industry! Thank you for all of your hard work, Bre! It's been an absolute pleasure to work with you. ?

After being a customer for years, the service went downhill. I called and asked for a new auto quote and the lady said she'd get right on it. Never got it. Ask questions to the staff, get the run around. The only communication for the longest time was to tell me that I sent my payment check to them instead of Erie directly and not to do it again. My bad. No thanks for your business. Then, the only followup I got was sales emails. I finally replied and said I wanted them to stop contacting me with their sales emails especially if they weren't going to take care of me as a customer. I got a snarky reply from Dan Matulka, defending his company's poor customer service and follow up, trying to make excuses. It was a poor defense that I tore apart and to which he had no additional defense and no additional reply. I finally had enough and was looking for a way to get a broker where I lived, as I no longer worked or lived in the area. I still liked Erie Insurance. I found a new broker and all that needed to be done was a simple transfer of my policies. Matulka Insurance refused. I've spoken to other insurance brokers and they were shocked at this CHILDISH behavior. I had to have my entire policies redone. Thanks for nothing, Dan. Glad you purposely tried to inconvenience your hostages, I mean customers, I mean former customers. Real. Class. Act. On top of that, it took two phone calls and two emails to finally get cancellation confirmation from Matulka. At least my re-quote saved me money.

I've been a client of Erie Insurance for 40 years, and a client of Matulka Insurance for 25 years. Their service has plummeted in the last few years. Numerous mistakes, CYA behavior from the admin staff, pushback from adjusters (with no real assistance from the local office) after the tornadoes, and most recently, refusing to cancel my 22-year-old son's coverage on our policy, even though he is out of state in the military. I called them in November 2018 to cancel my son's coverage. They talked me into waiting until January 20th, as my son would be home for Christmas. It was agreed that his policy would be canceled on Jan. 20th. A few weeks ago I called to check, and this still had not been done, despite the fact that they had it in their own records that I had requested it. The office manager told me to check back in 2 weeks. I checked back today and was told that the underwriters not only had not approved the credit, but they were REFUSINGto take my son off the policy moving forward without proof of his inability to come home and drive our cars. He has been in Georgia and North Carolina, restricted to staying within 50 miles of base since he joined. I asked, then demanded to speak with Dan Matulka, and the office manager refused, saying that the best she could do would be to leave a message for him asking him to call me back. This is the final of many straws. Not only have they lost my personal auto and home coverage, but I will also be taking my business insurance elsewhere. Will update this with notes on how smoothly the transfer goes.
