We sold the home we had owned for 40 years. We met with and interviewed two real estate agents in depth. We could not agree on a selling price. Recommended by a friend, we were fortunate to have found Nancy Castagna of Open Door Real Estate. Nancy saw in our house what the other agents did not see. She understood our town and was familiar with the nuances of location, that is the value of not only our home, but our property, layout and charm. We were able to price the property almost instantly. As we worked together to prepare the house for sale, Nancy was patient, candid and cooperative. After listing, she was aggressive and moved to market the property quickly and, as it turned out, very effectively. We the home under agreement within 3 weeks in the dead of winter. There was certainly back and forth, negotiating at every step of the process, but through it all, Nancy was tireless in her attention, flexible in her communications and most importantly, dead-honest with us throughout the entire process. Given an opportunity to buy or sell another home, we would not hesitate to call Nancy again.

Lauren Demerjian of Open Door Real Estate is a gem of a professional. She does what she says, when she says she will. She gets things done. She listens well, gives good advice, is knowledgeable on local markets and issues, and provides excellent support to ensure that you can make good decisions regarding your real estate transaction. She had a contract on my challenged house less than a month after it was listed, and chased all the details to make sure that the deal happened and I had nothing to worry about. She is a person who makes things easier (as opposed to one of those who create obstacles). Beyond all that, Lauren communicates clearly and concisely and keeps you in the loop. I recommend her to everyone!

Lauren Demerjian is a wonderful realtor. She really listened to what we wanted in a house and found us exactly what we wanted in our price range. Buying and selling a home can be stressful and she was always a calming influence and very responsive to our needs. If I ever sell my house or buy a house again Lauren is the only realtor I would call !

Lauren Demerjian is amazing! We could not have asked for a better realtor. She is a straight shooter and knows her stuff. We have worked with many realtors over the years and they do not compare to the depth of knowledge Lauren has and her advice was always spot on. If she did not know the answer, she would not stop until she found one. She is truly incredible! We worked with her in as the buyer's agent and unfortunately our deal did not work out, as there were a myriad of issues. She helped us navigate it all from financials (when the lenders were trying to milk us for extra money, Lauren brought it to our attention) to lawyers, who didn't care about our best interest. Lauren had to step in and advocate for our rights. I will go out on a limb and say we had one of the worst buying experiences in the world, but Lauren was the silver lining. Prior to working with Lauren, I will honestly say I didn't understand the purpose of having an realtor, but now I know a good realtor is your best friend! They will advise you when things just don't seem right, and help you find viable solutions. Yes, they find your dream home, but there is so much more to the process and it is essential to have a trusted allied in the process, as many in the field from lenders to lawyers are not valuing a client relationship, but only the bottomline. This is when a realtor can help you discover the ones in the field that are trustworthy and honest. Lauren has an incredible team and they are all able to navigate any real estate transaction. I would trust her with every future deal and I recommend her to all my friends and family!! Thank you for all your help!

Karen Packard from Open Door Real Estate is wonderful!!! She was able to sell my condo very quickly, which surprised me, and showed me about 10 houses until I found the perfect one for myself and my family!!! I had no doubt she would be able to find exactly what I needed and wanted, and she did!!! She made the whole process much less painless than I thought it might be. She did all the necessary communication with the lawyer and the condo association to get all the paperwork in place. Karen works hard, is very professional, and always kept me in the loop. I would definitely recommend her!

If you are getting involved in real estate, whether it be buying or selling, and Lauen Demerjian from Open Door Real Estate is your realtor, then fate and fortune has smiled down on you.Several years ago, we looked at a house listed as a short sale that was in a difficult situation (condition, septic failed, etc.). We initially contacted a realtor who was unfamiliar with the property, not well versed in short sales, and, it turned out, not too experienced. Then we met Lauren, and switched realtors right away. Mid-stream. What a difference! Lauren was there helping through the weeks and weeks of difficult negotiation, changing situations, and ongoing uncertainty. Without her, we undoubtedly would not have been able to successfully purchase the house that we live in now, and really enjoy on a daily basis. She was knowledgeable about the property, had a lender contact that we ended up using, and helped navigate through the twisty routes of a three-party transaction, title obscurity, septic sytem repair, even issues with the town.But we did it all!If you look at Lauren's credentials, you will see all the realtor "alphabet soup": ASP, CBR, SRES, SFR, CRS. These are all realtor certifications Lauren has earned that are your assurance that she has done her "homework", and can assist you most certainly in whatever your real estate needs may be.Again, if you have Lauren on your side, you win!

When we decided to sell our longtime Sterling home in order to downsize, we quickly realized we knew nothing about the real estate market and how to prepare for the sale.Lauren accurately appraised the property,described the process to us,and seamlessly worked with our attorney and the buyer's agent.
